The Design Process
Welcome to Earth Wise Northwest Ecological Landscape Design!
As the name implies, Earth Wise Northwest is an unique landscape design consulting company emphasizing in environmental friendly landscape designs that are functional as well as beautiful. Every site is unique and each design is completely new and personally created especially for you and the environmental conditions present on your property. The goal is to provide you with a beautiful, easily managed landscape that will enhance the beauty and value of your home while protecting the natural environment.
Step One: Consultation
The first step in creating your new landscape is the initial consultation. This includes evaluating your current landscape elements such as the type of soil, light, drainage and existing vegetation. After assessing the conditions, we'll discuss the style and elements that you want included and how you plan to use your outdoor space. You'll be given a rough sketch for layouts, plus suggestions for different trees, shrubs and perennials.
Sometimes, this is the only step necessary, because not everyone requires a full design. You may have just a few questions, such as: are those weeds or native plants, or what plants will do best on my site? Don't worry, no job is too small.
Step Two: Concept Plan
If you choose to continue, the next step is to create a simple basic design, also called a conceptual plan. This basic plan is a "work in progress" until final changes are made and the master plan is developed.
Step Three: Planting Plan
Once we have agreed on the design, you will be presented with a Planting Plan.
